Post a 100 word comment (not a new post) that explains the stunt you would stage to promote the fact that ticket sales have opened for the stage show - Priscilla, Queen of the Desert. Finish your piece with a sentence starting 'This stunt will sell tickets because....'

Priscilla was the bus so the bus will strut her stuff from the Elizabeth St corner of Burke St mall turn right onto Swanston St then left onto Collins St and finish at the Regent Theatre.
The sparkly silver shoe will be towed behind as it will not fit under the tram lines.
Pink and silver will be the theme for the stunt.
There will be dancers dressed in drag who will be singing and dancing around the queen of the desert as she graciously makes her way to her new home.
This stunt will sell tickets because the community will get into spirit of Priscilla and want to join in on the fun, laughter and good times that her journeys unfold.

I would have all the trams on the day of the launch decorated to look like buses. I would have ‘drag queens’ on the buses and in the streets, ushering people to the steps of Flinders St Station, where they would be given ice-cream sundaes and a tiny bus (instead of an umbrella). We would call them “Priscilla – Queen of the Desserts”! I would also have men pulled out of the crowd, put them in stiletto’s and army fatigues and have relays. The winner (as well as receiving some sort of prize) would be crowned “Priscilla - Queen of the Deserters”!
This stunt will sell tickets because it does not rely on media attention to spread the word. The spectacle will be strange enough, and will reach many people, even if they only see their tram (‘bus’)
For those that have seen the movie, one of the first images that comes to mind is riding through the outback on the top of their tour bus.
However, the movie is also based on elaborate costumes, makeup and miming to ABBA songs.
To try a different approach to draw attention to the new stage production, I would have the characters dressed in their costumes roaming around the Melbourne Zoo. The movie has a strong patriotic approach and used iconic Australian animals and intense colours in their costumes. One of them was the frilled-neck lizard.
On a Sunday when the Zoo is most frequently visited by families, international visitors and the general public, I would have the characters parade around in costume to the sounds of ABBA songs and have them put on a lunchtime performance in the Zoo’s kiosk area.
I would ensure that I sent a media release to TV stations and newspapers a day prior to the event.
This stunt would sell tickets as it would certainly get the attention of the Melbourne public visiting the zoo and by word of mouth. Often these type of light-hearted stunts feature in print and televised media segments every day.

One tram will be decorated as the bus Priscilla and will follow the route of the city circle tram.
A number of male performers dressed in drag, will be singing and dancing as they escort the tram around the city.
They will be performing to a number of songs including 'I Will Survive', 'Finally' and 'I Love the Nightlife'.
The display will finish at Federation Square, where the performers will display two more dances in an explosion of streamers and glitter. Feather boas and glittery masks will be given away and a ticket stand will be set up.
This stunt will sell tickets because the loud boppy music and bright colours of the display are sure to attract the attention of the public and the media. It will remind people of the show and entice them to attend.

Priscilla Queen of the Desert was known for its iconic bus scene through the outback. I would have several buses that followed set routes through the city. On the sides of the buses would be graphics of the stage show and be extremely attention grabbing. The buses would be free to get on. On board would be several cast members dressed in costume, handing out giveaways such as free tickets and show bags.
Music from the show could be played via a speaker on the exterior of the bus, which would help create attention and excitement. I would have one person inside with a microphone announcing to people on the street that tickets were on sale and where to purchase them.

The obvious stunt to promote the fact that tickets are on sale to the stage show Priscilla would include the cast on a bus in the city doing their thing.
I would go down an alternative path to create some interest in the show, and get tickets selling like hot cakes.
I would recruit some popular male identities to dress in drag and put on a singing and dancing performance on the stage at Federation Square.
This would be a fun event that would attract many spectators including media sources. This would definitely make the papers and quite possible channel 10 news, as a lighthearted story. I would ensure ticket-selling booths were set up around the area.
This stunt will sell tickets because as it will attract a large crowd and receive great media coverage.

The cast of Priscilla would board two of the middle carriages of a train at Camberwell station, and get off at Flinders Street Station. While on the train, they would entertain passengers with some of the songs from the show.
They will parade up and down the aisles of the carriages, and hand out brochures on the show, with details on how to but tickets.
This stunt will sell tickets as it is unique adn zany, and will stick in peoples minds.

Considering that stunts are an old trick, I would begin by organising the entire cast of the show to do a photo op in Bourke St Mall, wearing full costume.
I would then arrange for selected people from the Bourke St audience to be included in the show, by dressing them up costumes and full make-up.
There will be a short show in Bourke St Mall, with a pre-selected scene being acted out on stage.
This stunt will sell tickets because people who watch the short show will find it amusing and entertaining. Members of the public will see the fanfare created by the Bourke St Mall show, and it will attract local media, which will appeal to more people

I would begin by co-ordinating the cast of members to walk around the city of Melbourne dressed in full costume, talking to members of the public, they would be followed by a bus, similar to that used in the film.
The cast going down to Prahran, where the film began, would follow this stunt. The site where this would take place would be the club that the film started, and try to include the original cast members of the film. If they are to attend, they would stand next to their character for a photo opportunity.
This stunt will sell tickets because, the display of the current show in Bourke St Mall, the exhibition in Prahran, and the bus will prove to the public that the show is fun and exciting. It might also entice people, who enjoyed the movie, to come and see the stage show.

Priscilla will be promoted by using mobile billboard at 3 main trams that drive in the city.
On launch day, those trams will be decorated like bus. 3 staffs will be costumed in Mitzi, Felicia and Bernadette and get in each tram as well as sing a song that is music in this show such as, Don’t Leave Me This Way, I Will Survive and I Love the Nightlife.
After than, they will promote Priscilla show and motivate passengers on those trams to buy the tickets at the Finder Square.
At the Finder Square, The boost that sells the ticket will be decorated like the bus and has 3 mascots to take pictures and play with people who walk around at area.

In order to create enough media coverage as well as grab public attention, a bus decorated as the one featured in the movie should be used.
However, instead of just providing the public with the information, the public would be part of the stunt. As the bus would drive around the Regent Theatre, male volunteers would be picked up from the crowd, taken in the bus, dressed as drag queens and released once ready. They would be wandering around the city promoting themselves the show. They would obviously receive some sort of incentive such as tickets or passes for the premiere of the musical.
This stunt will sell tickets because the public would be involved and be part of show. Hence they will purchase tickets to see the result of their work.

The most obvious stunt would to have some kind of parade or city event that involved the cast, the music and the costumes from show. I would probably try to do something really different to what the public would assume. Maybe turning Bondi beach into Alice Springs and having drag queens and transsexuals dancing to ABBA in bikinis in partnership with a radio station handing out free tickets.
This stunt will sex tickets because it will be outragoues and hilarious and shock people. I think because it is unexpected and really promotes a theme of the show people will be interested and motivated to go and see the show.
